Four Centuries of Political Culture
The text tells the story of Maryland's four-century ritual of campaigning and elections. It is the story of what people of the colony and state, recharting their course every year or two, have wanted their society to be. It is the story of how they differed among themselves and reconciled their differences.
The pictures in this book provide a partial catalogue of an exhibition held in 1986-1987 at the Maryland Historical Society, displaying a selection of Maryland's political artifacts and election day activities.
